Does dowsing with the left or right hand matter?
After practicing some dowsing I realized that sometimes I use my left hand to dowse and sometimes I use my right hand. I didn't think it mattered until I read somewhere that people generally hold the pendulum in their prominent hand. Does it reallly matter? Is it possible to get different answers? Does how I programmed the pendulum matter? Thank you.

Re: Does dowsing with the left or right hand matter?
Here is a bit of advice
Dont worry what other people tell you is right or wrong.
Follow your logic on what works/ not what other people tell you what works.
How many expert dowsers are there out there /Practically none ie (90% success rate)
Many people who give advice are rubbish at it themselves.
You will waste a lot of time listening to experts.
However (my personal opinion) is that it doesnt matter, as when you are on, you are on

Millie--
FelixRV is somewhat right here -- what is of most importance is to find what works best for you and develop that. However, doing everything trial and error will make it take forever to learn, when there are folks out there who can give worthwhile advice to save you from learning everything the hard way. Sometimes, what works for them won't work for you -- but you'll be able to find that out fairly quickly if you try it. You will find that other advice is very helpful, while still other advice just doesn't sound right at all. No one knows all the answers, but some know more than others.
(And lest we forget, FelixRV's advice to ignore advice is, after all, advice!)
As far as your specific question -- most people use their dominant hands to do pendulum dowsing with. But some folks try their non-dominant hand to see if it works better for them, and sometimes it does. I recommend, however, that you stick with your dominant hand for awhile before you try it the other way -- give practice a chance to work. And is 'programming' your pendulum essential? Most people do it (to make sure your subconscious and conscious awareness are on the same sheet of music to know what to expect). But there are occasionally folks who don't, and for some of them it doesn't seem to matter, judging from what they say.
Bert wishes, Paul

Thank you for your responses.
I appreciate the Dowsing Community where I can ask questions. There never seems to be enough time at the Dowsing meetings. The dowsers that I run into really show a passion for dowsing and always give support for people who are learning.
I'm practicing map dowsing and will get better the more that I practice. You will see me soon asking more questions in the map dowsing forum.
Thank you Millie

Re: Does dowsing with the left or right hand matter?
You esentially need to be intuitive to use your intuition
hence you have to know intuitively what is the correct process before you can do forced choice psi.
are you trying to learn dowsing from a logical point of view or an intuitive point of view.
when merely logic is someone elses intuition.

when merely logic is someone elses intuition. Not sure this is completely true. You are right about logic vs. intuition -- logic is left brain, linear, and limited by conscious awareness. To learn dowsing requires (mostly) an intuitive approach, with a little logic thrown in. However, each of us has our own internal logic circuits and processing which don't depend on anyone else for their existence. So one can adopt a logical approach completely out of his or her own resources and background knowledge. We can, of course, borrow information and ideas from others, but this can inform either our intuitive or our logical minds, depending on what kind of information it is and how we choose to assimilate it. Best, Paul

Re: Does dowsing with the left or right hand matter?
I wonder if now in 2017 there is any interest in this forum?????
I betcha that you will find that if you are "location dowsing" in the field using one rod, it will make a difference (maybe of several feet/yards) which hand you use depending on if you are right or left eyed.
Some might find that using a rod while map dowsing this might account for some "missing the target by a half inch or more if the parallax is not taken into account.
