should the pendulum hold still when it move along the grid line(any direction) and change to back and forth when hit the answer? or it does move in circular motion/left and right from time to time and change to back and forth when hit the answer?

When you dowse matrices, move from box to box, not along a grid line. Also, any sudden movement can indicate a “yes” response”. The subconscious mind can generate a response as minimal as a simple twitch in the hand so you must very alert in order to identify feedback indications. Also, it won’t necessarily begin moving in a circle.
